incorporated only in 1999 and is now the holding and management company of the
RD Group of Companies, a family-controlled conglomerate founded and managed by
RODRIGO E. RIVERA, SR., its President & Chief Executive Officer. He is ably
assisted by his wife, DOLORES C. RIVERA, who is Executive Vice President &
Treasurer.
From a humble pawnshop in
1976 in General Santos City, Phil., the GROUP now consist of 40 subsidiaries
and major divisions engaged in various ventures in Fishing, Agri-business,
Manufacturing, Processing, Banking, Pawning, Insurance, Real Estate
Development, Hotels and Retailing of Hardware and Fishing Supplies,mainly
operating in the Philippines and now also in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.

RD’s story began with a pawnshop business in General Santos City in year
1976 by founder and CEO Rodrigo E. Rivera, Sr. and his wife Dolores.
Sixteen years later in 1999, RD Corporation (RDC) was established as a
holding company. Since its establishment, RD Corporation has become one of
the fastest growing conglomerates in the country. To date it has
rapidly expanded to 43 subsidiaries and 12 affiliates. These new companies
and business ventures were born out of the need of a sister company making
RD Corporation, by and large, an integrated conglomerate.
RDC continually professionalized and enhanced its controls and systems.
In 2005 it created the Audit Committee and People Management Committee. Currently,
RDC has established presence in various industries and
geographical locations within the country and overseas. Today, RD Corp is
engaged in fishing, ship building and repair, manufacturing, aquaculture
and processing, finance, agri-business, hotels and resorts, retail and
realty development operating all over the Philippines, Southeast Asia,
Melanesia, and other parts of the world like Europe and United States.

Rudy is a man who goes
from vision to vision. What has started as a solitary pawnshop has grown to be
a global conglomerate. Providing quality products and delivering excellent
services by highly competent and motivated people with good moral values is his
dream. Sustaining and expanding his organization through the next generations
in the likes of Kikoman, Ayala, and Aboitiz is his passion. And giving God all
the glory and the honor is his commitment.
A multi-awarded businessman, the most important
of which was the Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst and Young in 2005, and
recognized for his contribution to the economy of the nation by providing job
opportunities and employment and earning dollars for the country, he is a man
worth emulating. Highly respected in Papua New Guinea as a man of
integrity, he was appointed by the government of PNG as honorary Consul General
in the Philippines.
In 1999, Mr. Rivera was named the Outstanding Countryside
Investor of the Year as well as one of the Top 20 Employers. He was appointed
as Papua New Guinea Honorary Consul General for Mindanao in 2001 and received
the Rajah Award of Excellence in 2004.
